- What do optometrists do?
- Optometrists (O.D.) are independent primary health care professionals specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of vision problems and other eye abnormalities.
- They examine, diagnose, treat, and manage diseases, injuries, and disorders of the eye, visual system, and associated structures.
- Optometrists can prescribe optometric treatments such as corrective lenses, contact lenses or vision therapy in order to provide patients with clear and efficient vision.
