Academic support mentors are trained OSU students who provide personalized academic support to help fellow students develop essential skills for college success. Our mentors work one-on-one with students to build confidence, improve academic performance and create sustainable strategies for managing college life.

  • How does academic success mentoring work?

    You can schedule a one-on-one meeting at your convenience that will last approximately one hour. Mentors will create a personalized approach based on your unique needs and goals. You will assess your current academic needs and develop a plan to support your academic growth.

  • Who are our academic support mentors?

    Our academic support mentors are carefully selected OSU students who have demonstrated strong academic performance and leadership skills. They receive comprehensive training in academic coaching techniques, active listening and communication skills, campus resources and referral processes, as well as professional boundaries and ethics.

    All mentors are supervised by professional staff and participate in ongoing training to ensure they provide the highest quality support.
