ORANGE STRIDES: APPLY
Program Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for Orange Strides, students must meet the following criteria:
- Enrolled in sixth through twelfth grade at Agra, Billings, Carney, Cushing or Guthrie.
- A member of a family in which neither parent has a bachelor's degree (first-generation) or a family whose income does not exceed the level established by the U.S. Department of Education.
Orange Strides: A TRIO Talent Search Program is a program funded by the U.S. Department of Education. Applicants who qualify as both a first-generation student and identify as low-income will be considered a first priority among other applicants.

Is Orange Strides the same as Talent Search?
Yes! We rebranded in summer 2022 and now go by the name Orange Strides: A TRIO Talent Search Project. Same program, new name.

Do I have to pay to join Orange Strides?
No, we are a federally funded program. Our services are completely free of charge for all participants! We also cover the costs of any trips we take our participants on. Additionally, we provide ACT waivers to our students.

What if I identify as first-generation but not low income or vice versa?
Orange Strides accepts everyone who meets any one criterion. All applications will be thoroughly reviewed. Even if you meet just one of the requirements, we strongly encourage you to apply!

What are ACT waivers?
Each participating student receives up to 4 ACT waivers from our program. Each student can take the ACT up to 12 times. A higher ACT score generally means a higher chance of scholarships. If you want to know more, please contact us at triots@okstate.edu.

Do I have to apply to OSU to join Orange Strides?
Definitely not. We are not recruiters for OSU. Our participants are free to apply wherever they would like, though we will always welcome you to OSU!
