OSU's Early Admission Program is a very rigorous program designed for high-achieving, incoming OSU-Stillwater freshmen who desire
to serve as a future veterinarian.
- Program Overview
OSU's DVM Early Admission Program offers incoming freshmen the opportunity to be considered for early provisional acceptance to veterinary school.
- Eligible candidates apply for the program early in their incoming/current fall semester of their freshman year at OSU-Stillwater and must have graduated from high school in May of the program application year.
- If granted provisional acceptance, you are guaranteed a spot in OSU's DVM program, pending completion of all program requirements.
If accepted, you agree to:
- Complete an OSU bachelor’s degree of your choice within 8 consecutive semesters.
- Maintain full-time status, earning a 3.5 GPA (or higher) each semester.

- Note: summer coursework must be pre-approved by OS-CVM Student Services Office.

- Complete all required prerequisite courses.
- Complete all additional Early Admission Program requirements.

- If accepted, you are provisionally accepted into OSU-College of Veterinary Medicine professional school during your freshman year!
- Provisional admits receive additional guidance, direction, and mentorship through OSU's College of Veterinary Medicine.
- High School Preparation
- Study hard! Earn a high, eligible ACT/SAT score for program pre-qualifications.
- Take rigorous courses. Biology, chemistry, physics, math, & other general core courses (English, history, foreign language, etc.) for holistic preparation.
- OSU's Early Admission Program allows college-level coursework to be earned prior to freshman year through:
- AP credit or Concurrent enrollment.
- Note: ALL grades from college-level courses will be counted towards GPA requirements for this program and your college GPA. Please take all courses seriously.
- Gain veterinary exposure & community experiences early!
- Shadow a veterinarian/scientists, volunteer at animal shelter/humane society, join local 4-H/FFA chapter, or work on a farm.
- Read scholarly books each year about veterinary medicine profession/career field. Review OSU Pre-Professional Health & Law Support Services Literature Library for free. *Non-OSU students can't check out books, but review pre-vet book recommendations to find at your local public library.
- Document/journal weekly about all animal and veterinary experience, extracurricular activities, volunteer work and employment.
