Application ProcessWhat To Expect

  • Application Timeline

If you meet all pre-qualifications and eligibility:

  • Application Materials
    • Complete/submit Freshman Med Bound application through OSU College of Osteopathic Medicine (OSU-COM). Contact the OSU-COM recruitment team for more information on the process.
    • ACT/SAT scores.
    • Official transcript(s): high school & college (if you have concurrent coursework).
    • Two letters of recommendation: high school/college instructors.
    • Pre-schedule an appointment with OSU academic advisor at the time of your application (early fall of your freshman year, before the application deadline) to complete the required OSU-COM Freshman Med Bound Program Verification Form as part of your required program application.
  • Next Step: Interviews

OSU-COM will invite qualified applicants to participate in an interview as part of the selection process.

    • If selected, interviews will take place before the end of fall semester in your freshman year and attendance is required.
  • Final Decisions

After your in-person interview, you will be notified of a decision by the end of fall semester during your freshman year, either:

    • confirming provisional acceptance into Freshman Med Bound Program with OSU-COM, or
    • inviting you to apply later through another route.
      • Other routes to the field can be found here and include 3+1 (for Juniors) and traditional application timelines.

If you were not accepted, don't give up! This is a competitive program, opportunity, and is not the only route into the field. Work hard during your studies at OSU. Engage in your holistic development to better prepare you for future professional school admission cycles.
