Recognizing Dedication Beyond the Classroom
The Pre-Professional CORD honors OSU students who go above and beyond in preparing for careers in health, law, or veterinary medicine. This recognition celebrates your commitment to academic excellence, professional development, career exploration, and community service throughout your undergraduate journey.
Available in three distinct tracks—Pre-Health/Med, Pre-Law, and Pre-Vet—the CORD program encourages you to build a well-rounded foundation and showcase your readiness for professional school.

Our CORDS 4 Components

The Pre-Professional C.O.R.D. program is designed to support you from your very first semester through graduation. Whether you're exploring career paths or preparing for your professional school entrance exam, the program provides a structured, holistic path that complements your academics and helps shape you into the ideal graduate.

  1. Profession Exposure

    Learn about your profession through membership in an on-campus or community group or through reading recommended literature from the Pre-Professional Library. 

  2. Profession Experience

    Prepare your resume or visit with a Career Coach to prepare for future networking opportunities. Participate in workshops, seminars, shadow, or work/intern in a related field.

  3. Competency & Skill Development

    Pursue growth opportunities in

    • leadership,
    • communication,
    • teamwork, and
    • research, or

    Participate in an immersion experience stateside or abroad.

  4. Professional School Readiness

    What do you need to know before applying to professional school?

    • How to research schools?
    • Does your program require pre-requisites or an entrance exam?
    • How can you prepare for personal statements, interviews, funding your education?

Applications are due the Friday of Pre-Finals week of your graduating semester, to ensure delivery by commencement.

  • Applications received after the above deadline may not be processed before commencement.
  • Pick up is required. We cannot mail your cord to you.
