Application ProcessWhat To Expect
- Application Timeline
If you meet all pre-qualifications and eligibility:
- Applications typically open in early May (AACOMAS portal opening).
- Applications are typically due around September 1st.
- Secondary/supplemental application and OSU-COM 3+1 Program Verification Form typically due around October 15.
- Check OSU-COM website. Don't miss the application deadline!
- Application Materials
- Complete/submit OSU-COM 3+1 Program online application through the AACOMAS (D.O.) application portal.
- Select OSU-COM as the medical school you are applying to in AACOMAS.
- Select/indicate on OSU-COM secondary/supplemental application that you are applying as an 3+1 Program candidate.
- Official college transcript(s): all college/universities you have ever attended.
- Two letters of recommendation: college faculty who taught you in a class or lab where academic credit was earned.
- Pre-schedule an appointment with OSU academic advisor at the time of your application (early fall of your junior year, before October 15th supplemental/secondary application deadline) to complete the required OSU-COM 3+1 Program Verification Form as part of your required program application.

OSU-College of Osteopathic Medicine invite qualified applicants to participate in a professional school interview as part of the selection process.
- If you meet all 3+1 Program eligibility, interviews will take place before the end of fall semester in your junior year.
- Final Decisions
After your in-person interview, you will be notified of a decision by the end of fall semester during your junior year, either:
- confirming provisional acceptance into 3+1 Program with OSU-College of Osteopathic Medicine, or
- invited to later apply for medical school admission later through an alternative route to the field or as a traditional applicant after your junior year at OSU.
If you were not accepted, don't give up! This is a competitive program opportunity and only one route to the field. Work hard during your studies at OSU. Engage in your holistic development to better prepare you for professional school.
