Application Process: What to Expect
- Application Year Preparation Tips
- Review requirements and clarify pre-eligibility.
- If you have questions, schedule/meet with OSU College of Osteopathic Medicine and/or OSU Pre-Professional Health & Law Support Services to discuss qualifications about the program.
- Prepare for MCAT with adequate preparation (typically 6 months suggested: early spring - early summer) prior to your AAACOMAS application process.
- Primary AACOMAS (OSU-COM) applications will open typically in May, begin preparing.
Note: You can only apply once for OSU-COM's Guaranteed Interview Program.
- Application Timeline
If you meet all pre-qualifications and eligibility:
- Plan to apply as you begin your final year at OSU or within six months of graduation.
- Primary applications (AACOMAS) open in May and are due by Feb. 28.
- Secondary/supplemental applications are sent after the primary application and are
due by March 30.
- This is where you will indicate you meet the requirements for the Guaranteed Interview Program.
- Check the appropriate box on the supplemental application to indicate requirements for the Guaranteed Interview Program have been met.

- Application Materials
- 500+ hours in a health-related setting at the time of your application.
- Minimum of 502 on the MCAT.
- Completed primary application by Feb. 28.
- Completed secondary/supplemental application by March 30.
- Next Step: Interviews
If you are a qualified applicant and submitted all required items before Program deadlines, you will be guaranteed an interview.
- Final Decisions
After your in-person interview, you will be notified of a decision typically by May 1st:
- Confirming acceptance into OSU's College of Osteopathic Medicine; or
- Advising you to re-apply for admission in the next application cycle, or when you feel more holistically prepared in a future cycle.
