2 Routes: Become a Speech-Language PathologistEveryone's pathway to become a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) is different. Common routes for OSU students include:

OSU's CDIS Bachelor's + M.S. in CDIS
OSU's bachelor's degree in Communication Sciences & Disorders then attend OSU's Master of Science in Communication Sciences & Disorders program.
Steps:
- Earn a bachelor's of science degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders (B.S. CDIS) from the OSU-Stillwater or OSU-Tulsa campuses.
- Apply to OSU's Master of Science in CDIS or another Speech Language Pathology professional program.
- After successful completion of the two year M.S. in CDIS program you will be eligible to sit for your national accreditation exam and apply for a Certificate of Clinical Competence Speech Language Pathologist (CCC-SLP). Review the SLP Pathway to Certification for more information.

OSU Bachelor's + Post-Bac CDIS Certificate + M.S. in CDIS
OSU's bachelor's degree then CDIS post-baccalaureate certificate. After completion, attend OSU's Master of Science in Communication Sciences & Disorders program.
Steps:
- Earn a bachelor's degree (of your choice) and complete OSU's Communication Sciences and Disorders (CDIS) Post-Baccalaureate Certificate (if you did not major in the B.S. in CDIS) to fulfill your prerequisite coursework for OSU's M.S. in CDIS and most other Speech Language Pathology professional programs.
- Apply to OSU's Master of Science in CDIS or another Speech Language Pathology professional program.
- After successful completion of the two year M.S. in CDIS program you will be eligible to sit for your national accreditation exam and apply for a Certificate of Clinical Competence Speech Language Pathologist (CCC-SLP). Review the SLP Pathway to Certification for more information.
