The OKState Advising Network facilitates communication and information sharing. In collaboration with Academic Affairs and Student Success, the network plays a crucial role in the professional development of Oklahoma State University's academic advisors. Representatives from all colleges and offices involved in advising are dedicated to implementing initiatives and programs to strengthen academic advising across the university.

Academic Advising Offices

Leadership team

Brie Bradshaw, Co-president

“I work with first-year students in the Office of Student Success and have been advising for a year. I love helping students find their passion on campus and teaching UNIV 1111 First-Year Seminar. One thing people find surprising is that I crochet my office decorations, and I have hidden Skyrim memorabilia, too!”

Angel Ray, Co-president

"I've been an academic advisor at OSU since 2010, and I currently serve as an advisor for the College of Arts and Sciences on the OSU-Tulsa campus. As an alumnus, I consider it a privilege to help students achieve their academic goals while balancing jobs and family. I particularly enjoy celebrating their achievements. I'm married to my high school sweetheart and have two children. A fun fact about me is that I'm featured in the Claremore Museum of History."

College and department representatives

Lori Carroll

"I’m originally from Midwest City and graduated from the University of Oklahoma and Kansas State University. I’ve been an advisor in the College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology for six years. My favorite thing about being an advisor is getting to know our students and seeing them grow into creative, thoughtful, and empathetic architects, engineers, and leaders."

Jonene Cook

"I'm a learning specialist at Academic Services for Student-Athletes. I work with student-athletes throughout their careers to develop and enhance their academic skill set while balancing the demands of competing in Division I athletics. Something others may find surprising about me is that I was in the OSU Bands, where I played flute, piccolo, oboe, and saxophone throughout my career."

Brooke Equinox

"I have been advising for approximately one year now. I currently advise in the Department of Microbiology and Molecular Genetics in the College of Arts and Sciences. My favorite thing about being an advisor is helping students with the next step, whatever that might be. Something other people would find surprising about me is the variety of skills I've taught myself, including many forms of art, photography, sewing, and my most recent interest in coding."

Caleb Hammon

"I am an academic advisor in the College of Arts and Sciences. Before I came to OSU, I earned a Ph.D. in political theory from the University of Notre Dame. I’m from Indiana and enjoy creative writing and good board games."

Holly Hetrick

"I have been an academic advisor at the Spears School of Business since 2022. My favorite thing about being an advisor is when my students come back to visit me after they’ve graduated! Something surprising about me is I raised five daughters and homeschooled them all."

Coleman Hickman

"I am the director of academic advising for the Ferguson College of Agriculture. I have been advising on OSU's campus for just under seven years. My favorite thing about advising is making valuable connections with my students and helping them understand how to navigate their higher education journey. People would be surprised that I am trying to find a post-Ph.D. hobby, and right now, that hobby is cross stitch—it's not going well."

Ebonie Hill

"I've been at the Honors College since January 2010 and am currently the program manager for the college staff. I earned my bachelor's degree from OSU in 2008 and am pursuing a master's in higher education administration. I serve as president and secretary of the Great Plains Regional Honors Council (GPHC) and co-chair several National Collegiate Honors Council (NCHC) committees. Additionally, I sit on multiple OSU committees and received the OSU Advising Excellence Award in 2016."

Edwina Kersten

"I've been an academic advisor at the Spears School of Business for a year, and I simply love the optimism college students possess. They are filled with hope as their futures unfold before them. Being able to help my students navigate that path forward is incredibly gratifying. This is my second time serving as an advisor. I previously advised students for 10 years at my alma mater, Cal Poly, SLO, and OSU, from 1994 to 2004. My favorite hobby is working on my family history."

Lacey Quadrelli

"I have been advising for five years in the College of Education & Human Sciences and love my job! My favorite thing about being an advisor is the short yet long transformation from a scared freshman to a confident and excited new graduate—growth is a beautiful thing! You might be surprised to learn that I’m a major Swiftie, that I love Disney, or that my husband and I own a dirt track race car!"

Amy Randolph

"I have worked as a learning specialist in Academic Services for Student-Athletes for over 20 years. I truly enjoy the energy of college students and love seeing them be successful in school and their sports. Something surprising about me is I have 3 degrees from OSU and am a loyal and true alum!"

Ashleigh Snell

"I'm an academic advisor for first-year students in the Office of Student Success. I’ve been advising at OSU for over three years and have worked with a variety of majors. My favorite part of being an advisor is witnessing students have that 'aha' moment when they realize they are smarter than they give themselves credit for. Something surprising about me is that I am the first in my family to pursue a degree in agriculture and the only sibling with a higher education degree."
